Ideal for companies involved in advanced manufacturing

Manufacturing continues to be the backbone of America’s economy, and the counties that make up Indiana’s Technology Corridor share a rich history of high-quality manufacturing in a wide array of industries.

But that doesn’t mean we’re part of the Rust Belt. Thanks to the influence of the research underway at Purdue University (including the Center for Advanced Manufacturing) and Indiana University’s efforts in our area, Indiana’s Technology Corridor has become an environment in which companies focused on advanced manufacturing technologies flourish. We’re proud of our relationship with companies that have pioneered leaner, highly efficient processes that increase productivity and enhance quality.

In addition, our area’s already-strong work ethic has been bolstered by the employer-focused training offered through Ivy Tech Community College. Local workers sharpen the skills they already have and add new ones that advanced manufacturing companies need to achieve their goals in an ever-more-competitive world. Through Ivy Tech’s Advancing Manufacturing program, full scholarships are available for the Certified Production Technician Program.
